Now that the "Libera Hype" has subsided (a little) for the Filipino Fans, our journey in choir music I believe has not ended.

I first heard of this choir, even before I discovered Libera. My first encounter with the LCC was when I was in my fourth grade (1997), a year after that I discovered Angel Voices (1998). I remember my jaws dropped when I first heard of LCC sing. It gave me the same goosebumps and tears everytime I hear Libera. What is more surprising is that we have our local version of the boys right under our nose.

On April 30, 2010, Friday, the LOBOC CHILDREN'S CHOIR of Bohol, Philippines will participate on the MISA BACLAYANA, to be held in Manila Cathedral, Intramuros Manila at 6:00PM.

It is quite interesting too that a MISA BACLAYANA is actually a "a rare musical piece showcases a rare blending of an old Gregorian chant music but is mysteriously written in a modern staff."

Moreso, "The piece composition has baffled modern musicians for its composer's unconventional use of neumes on a modern staff of five lines and four spaces, making the music unreadable to non scholars. The musical piece has been preserved on goat-skinned cantorals at the Church of the Immaculate Concepcion in Baclayon."

The music itself is quite different, enough for any choir music lover to listen to, but the actual singing will be done by one of the best international Children's Choir of the Philippines. (I have all the reason to be excited since this is going to be my first time in 15 years to watch them again.)

Again, may I invite everyone to join in the MISA BACLAYANA on April 30, 2010 in Manila Cathedral Intramuros Manila at 6:00 PM. This event is FREE.

I've seen them perform about 2 years ago. They went to our school's theater to perform a show. They were wonderful! I loved it so much. It was a performance I'll never forget. smilies/smiley.gif
